About Circle Cambodia

Circle Cambodia is a custom tailoring social enterprise based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Circle Cambodia opened its doors in November 2009 and was founded by Lauren Iida, a Seattle designer, and San Sambo, a young Khmer university student. Lauren and Sambo began their friendship when they met by chance on the bus while traveling through Cambodia. They established Circle Cambodia together with an initial $2,000 donation.

Currently Circle Cambodia employs a small group of young women from impoverished rural areas of the country as custom tailors. They are provided with a fair salary, free on-site housing, food, and Khmer and English literacy classes. Circle Cambodia believes sustainable business, fair employment, skills and literacy training create opportunities for the vulnerable women we work with.

Circle Cambodia provides a range of custom tailoring services and products including men’s and women’s apparel, uniforms, custom designs, fabric buying, traditional Khmer apparel, and more.

Circle Cambodia is the exclusive producer of the iida Design women’s apparel line.
